Thank you for this clarification, and this was what I was leaning towards. My roommate has a Radeon 7800 series GPU, with x2 DVI, x1 HDMI, x1 DisplayPort. If the Displayport to HDMI was an active adapter, then it would convert the signaling, so the graphics card would see the monitor as a Displayport-connected monitor. Basically, the problem might be that the adapter is not converting from Displayport signaling to HDMI signaling. The graphics card can noly display two of these signals and DVI-D uses the same signal, so that means a max of two displays when the Displayport isn't used as a Displayport. Some of them are not active adapters and the Dispalyport is merely passing an HDMI signal through.
